Mission
Our mission is to advance the effectiveness of our members by providing opportunities for exchange, education and relationship building between public, private and nonprofit organizations that are dedicated to promoting economic growth in Chicago neighborhoods.

Some CANDO members who pursue small business development and entrepreneurial training educate businesses regarding insurance issues.
Recent accomplishments and major awards
1) Co-convened with the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago the Enterprise Capital Access Partnership (SECAP).
2) Increased capital base for CANDO's Self-Employment Loan Fund (SELF), which provides micro-loans for start-up and existing businesses that are not yet conventionally bankable.
3) Increased funding for the Job Training & Economic Development grant program administered by the Illinois Department of Commerce & Community Affairs.
